We see it all the time on Hawaii 5-0 or on reality television. Men with insane muscle definition cloud our television and our women’s heads. Now, you may be in the best shape of your life but still not have a six-pack abs and rolling back muscles.

So I went on a search to find out what foods are best to add into your diet as well as drinks that may assist with muscle definition.

Protein Shakes

These don’t work for everyone. It truly depends on your diet, how much you eat, and how much you exercise. I wouldn’t recommend drinking a protein shake if you only plan on doing pilates. You’ll end up gaining weight because you aren’t burning off the calories from the shake.

You need to make sure that you are in the toning phase for your body to understand that it no longer needs to burn away fat. Protein shakes act as a replacement of the calories you burned off in the gym. Protein, carbs, and fats make up a protein shake.

As long as you are in the toning phase of your workout routine, then you’ll definitely begin to see your muscles start to pop. Make sure you change up your exercises though; otherwise your body will stay stagnant and you won’t see the results you want.

Supplements

I have come across against Creatine that is a natural supplement that can be taken. Why is creatine so important? Well according to WebMD; creatine builds phosphate in the body which helps create ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP provides the energy for muscle contractions.

You can also create creatine in your body when you ingest foods such as fish or meats.

Diet

Make sure that you are on a strict low-fat/high-fiber diet. Vegetables are very important to maintain in your diet because they are high in fiber, which is what you are looking for when you want to build your muscle definition.

Make sure to stay away from dense fats and stick to lean proteins. The reason to stay away from the dense fats is that it slows down your metabolism which hinder your goal of gaining the definition you desire. Don’t go overboard with fatty condiments either. You’re better off with low-fat or light condiments.

The bottom line when it comes to creating muscle definition is to keep the triad in rotation. You’re diet, exercise, and the supplements you use will all be the key to attaining true muscle definition. Make sure to take a class to switch up your routine. Don’t do the same exercises over and over!

Now, you still have time to create that six-pack by summer. Get to it!
