It’s difficult to imagine stories like this exist, but it’s pretty awesome that they do. Carl Schneider, a special education teacher at Whitney Achievement Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee has been doing something for students at the school that goes far beyond the scope of his duties as an educator. Because the neighborhoods around the school, where many of the children live, are so rough it is often not safe for them to make their way to and from school each day.

That’s when Schneider decided he had to do something about it. What started out three years ago as a small group of kids has turned into a five teacher operation that escorts nearly 200 kids home everyday. That’s what dedication look like.
