Art that Will Captivate Your Morbid Curiosity

By Richard K. Noots

Zdzisaw Beksiski was a Polish painter and sculptor who happened to lead a very depressing life. His wife was killed, his son committed suicide, and then he later died when someone stabbed him to death in his apartment. His art seems to reflect a certain morbid melancholy feeling, and is often dubbed “Utopian Art.” However, despite his tragedies and dark themes, his paintings leave a lot of wonderment and beauty to our imaginations. Here are some examples of his breath-taking artwork.
