James Baldwin was a great writer born in 1920s Harlem Era. It should also be mentioned that he was black and gay. So, yeah, living in America at the time wasn’t exactly a beacon of hope for men like James. He ended up spending a majority of his life in France, but wrote many valuable books about equality and otherĀ light-hearted subjects of human rights issues that most of humanity currently espouses, but no one seems to live up to. Still, James never gave up hope, and neither should you.
