Blending into the sky within the day and coming to life at night, this ethereal sculpture by internationally renowned local artist Janet Echelman titled “As If It Were Already Here” has transformed Boston’s Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy into a huge museum.

Created for the city’s public art program, this monumental installation serves as a tribute to Boston’s history and progress.

Installed 365 feet above the ground and spans up to 600 feet between high-rise buildings, this aerial sculpture is made of fibers that are 15x stronger than steel.

Responding fluidly to ever-changing wind and weather, this stunning creation symbolizes inter-connectedness and strength through resiliency.

Echelman encourages visitors to view the artwork from different angles to see its color and shape changing properties.

The sculpture will remain on display through October 2015.
