My friend Brad has been married to his wife Liz for 5 years. They have 2 kids and have always gotten along well. They enjoy family activities, attend church service every Sunday and also spend time alone together.

Their sex life is good as well and they never really had any big conflicts in their relationship. They have a simple yet a loving home.

Brad works as a manager at a restaurant where he met his assistant, Julia. The two are very friendly with each other and whenever Brad has new ideas, Julia is always supportive of him and he does the same thing for her. Their place of work has become a perfect venue for them to get to know each other; they always take their breaks together and after closing time Brad waits for Julia to give her a ride home.

Recently though, their friendship has become more intimate. They text each other constantly and call each other on weekends. The whole time Liz never suspected anything.

One day, the restaurant had to close early because of a storm alert. All the employees left early except for Brad and Julia.

While Brad was working on some tasks around the restaurant, Julia surprisingly pushed him against the wall and kissed him. He kissed back. Outside, the weather seemed angry as if the thunder and lightning didn’t seem to agree on what was happening inside the restaurant.

Brad came home very late that night and he was distant, quiet, and avoided Liz. Thinking that her husband was just stressed and tired from work, she just let him rest.

Brad and Julia’s relationship continued until one day, Julia asked him if he wanted to take things to the next level. She wanted Brad to spend a night at her apartment.

Brad didn’t want to go any further, but he didn’t want to stop things with Julia either. He just wanted to end it, but the relationship just became very addictive. He felt stuck and didn’t know what to do.

Doing the right thing is hard, but only when you don’t know and you don’t understand what the right thing is.

In this imperfect world we live in, we are always presented with choices; some are a little-less wrong, some are good and some are right. However, a true gentleman would not think of picking any other option except for the RIGHT one, even if it’s not popular and self-gratifying.
