Salvation Army Dancer Narrowly Avoids Getting Charged for His Illegal Actions

By Richard K. Noots

A Salvation Army Bell Ringer was seen earlier this month dancing merrily away to the tune of a familiar song called The Cupid Shuffle. A nearby crowd soon joined in jest, cheers and donations at the mere sight of such revelry. Truly, it was a joyous time for all. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been mentioned yet if the NYPD decided to fine the Salvation Army for violating public ordinances, as they often like to do for people dancing on the streets with loud music playing from speakers. Oops.

How absurd, although I guess you could say the police are just doing their job, only you think they would be a little less aggressive during the holiday season.

I agree. There’s the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. Follow the spirit of the law and leave this guy alone.

It doesn’t actually show him being shut down, was he? I think it’s funny and a great way to get people’s attention. More of this is needed to put people in a good mood to donate money to charity.

I don’t know if they got into trouble, I hope not. If they did it would probably be because a crowd joined in. Once a lot of people start milling around a crossing it could get dangerous I suppose.

He’s got some moves, for sure. I bet he made a lot of people smile, which is never a bad thing. Hopefully the cops let him be. He’s a great ad. for his organisation, which can be seen as stuffy and out of date.
